Abstract:As an important part of "two shelters and three belts", the southern hill and mountain belt plays an ecological security role in south and southwest China. Selection of priority protected region is of great importance to the improvement of regional ecosystem services, ecological security, and sustainable development. In this study, InVEST model and forest recreation model were used to evaluate the spatial distribution of water yield, soil conservation, carbon storage, habitat quality and ecological recreation. Eleven scenarios were established by using the Ordered Weighted Averaged (OWA). The results showed that: (1) the distributions of water yield and soil conservation were uneven in the southern hill and mountain belt with an average water yield of 1108 mm, high water yield concentrated in the central region, while the ecological leisure in the eastern region and the western region was relatively high. (2) In the study area, the carbon fixation capacity was strong with an average carbon storage of 45.58 t/hm2; the habitat quality was good with an average habitat quality of 0.75; and the carbon storage and habitat quality were closely related to the land use/cover. (3) Scenario 2 indicated the optimal conservation efficiency, and the conservation efficiencies of water yield, soil conservation, carbon storage, habitat quality and ecological recreation were 1.17, 1.89, 1.32, 1.48 and 1.18, respectively. The results can provide decision support for the improvement of ecosystem services in the study area.
