淡竹蔸根和鞭根细根寿命特征研究

    植物细根寿命是决定细根周转的关键,对陆地生态系统碳和养分循环都有重要意义。但是,目前对竹类植物根寿命的直接观测资料和研究仍显不足,尤其缺乏关于竹类植物蔸根和鞭根两种类型根寿命特征的研究。本研究利用根箱对淡竹(Phyllostachys glauca)蔸根和鞭根根系动态开展研究,结果表明:(1)淡竹蔸根和鞭根根寿命间没有显著差异,但是根序对根寿命有显著影响。1级根寿命显著低于2级根寿命,2级根寿命显著低于3级根寿命。(2)蔸根和鞭根的出生和死亡具有不同的季节模式。鞭根新根出生集中于7、8、9月,在7月达到峰值,死亡高峰发生在春季(3-5月)。蔸根新根发生没有单一峰值,在3月、7月、11月各有一次新根发生的小高峰,死亡高峰发生在夏季。(3)淡竹蔸根和鞭根的根寿命与生出时间的关系不同。蔸根夏季生出的细根中值寿命最长,春季生出的细根中值寿命最短。鞭根春季生出的细根中值寿命最长,冬季(12-2月)生出的细根中值寿命最短。本研究发现淡竹细根蔸根和鞭根具有不同的生长规律,其寿命与根序级别、生出时期密切相关,研究结果可为竹林生产和管理提供理论依据。

    Abstract:

    The lifespan of botanical fine roots is crucial to fine root turnover, plays an important role in the carbon and nutrient cycle of terrestrial ecosystem. However, so far there is no sufficient data and research that has been directly observed or conducted on the lifespan of bamboo roots, particularly in the characteristics of Phyllostachys glauca culm and rhizome roots. In this study, Rhizoboxes were used to study the dynamics of culm and rhizome root of Phyllostachys glauca. The results showed that: (1) There were no significant differences on lifespans between culm and rhizome roots. Root lifespans increased as the root order rose. The lifespans of first-order roots were significantly lower than those of second-order roots, and the lifespans of second-order roots were lower than those of third-order roots. (2) The birth and death of culm and rhizome roots have different seasonal patterns. The birth of rhizome roots was concentrated in July, August, and September. Rhizome roots birth peaked in July and death peaked in spring (from March to May). For the culm roots, there was no single peak in the birth but small peaks in March, July, and November. Culm roots’ death peaked in summer (from June to August). (3) The relations between the lifespan and birth date of culm and rhizome roots differed. Culm roots born in summer had the longest median lifespans while those born in spring had the shortest. Rhizome roots born in spring had the longest median lifespans while those born in winter (from December to February) had the shortest. Our findings indicated that culm and rhizome roots had different growth patterns, and their lifespan is closely related to root order and birth date. This study could provide a theoretical basis for bamboo forest production and management.
