The 2021 Academic Forum on China''s ecological civilization and sustainable development was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province from November 20 to 21, 2021,the forum attracted more than 1700 people to participate in online and offline discussions.The theme of the forum is "ecological protection and sustainable development in the post epidemic era".The forum revolved around nine topics, namely:(1) Human-earth system coupling and sustainable development; (2) The national territory planning and ecological restoration; (3) Ecosystem services and value realization of ecological products; (4) Rural homestead withdrawal and rural development; (5) Soil and water conservation in mountainous areas and rural revitalization; (6) Ecological protection and restoration and sustainable development; (7) River basin ecological civilization construction and high-quality development; (8) Ecological civilization construction and sustainable development in karst areas; (9) The construction of marine ecological civilization and the high-quality development of marine economy.The enlightenment to the research of ecological protection and regional sustainable development in China is as follows: (1) Bring Nature-based Solutions into the construction of ecological civilization; (2) Deepen the evaluation of sustainable development supported by multi-source data and multi model coupling; (3) Establish and improve the value accounting system of ecological products based on ecosystem services.
