Abstract:In this thesis, the annual issued volume; the distribution of the funding agencies, countries and regions and the research direction and situation of research institutes are analysed based on a web search of the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science databases. In addition, CiteSpace is utilized for the co-occurrence and visualized clustering analysis of the keywords of ecological livable research between 2002 and 2017. The result shows that from 2006, ecological livability started becoming an active research area, and the volume of issues reached its peak in both 2013 and 2017. The National Social Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation funded many studies on ecological livability; however, the proportion of research funded overall is very small. Considering the distribution of disciplines, research has predominantly been focused on macroeconomic management and sustainable development. Considering the ranking of research institutes, Tianjin University ranks as first, while considering keyword co-occurrence network and distribution analysis, ‘new urbanization’, ‘urbanization’, ‘index system’, ‘ecological livability’ and ‘ecological civilization’ ranks as the top five. Through keyword clustering analysis, visual information map drawing and clustering information analysis, the trends and hot spots of ecological livable research are acquired. On the basis of the above results, the following suggestions are proposed for ecological livability research. Funding for ecological livability research should be increased. The research level of ecological livability should be improved. A dynamic index system should be constructed. Relevant policies for ecological livability development should be studied and formulated. New areas of ecological livability during the new urbanization development should be explored and established.
