Abstract:Alectoris is a genus of partridges who is a kind of widely distributed wildfowls belonging to Aves, Galliformes, Phasianidae. There are seven species birds of the genus Alectoris on the world with representatives in southern Europe, North Africa and Arabia, and across Asia in Pakistan and central Asia to western and northern China. The research history of Alectoris partridge were reviewed and summarized based on the researches related to classification, physiological and biochemical, ecology, phylogeography and genetics. The work about the researches of Alectoris partridge done by the Chinese scholars was emphasized in this article. Also, the authors put forward the future research direction about Alectoris partridge.
