Abstract:The past 15 year feeding records of one male Baiji was analyzed and a daily energy requirement moldel for the Baiji's early rearing years was set to be: DER(C) =9 860ln( A )+10.433( R 2 =0.9472).The energy density of carcass,basal metabolic rate, cost of locomotion,and cost of thermoregulation of the Baiji were estimated based on the energetics of other marine mamals.
