The evergreen broadleaf forest of Xujiaba lies on the Ailao Shan Mountains, Yunnan Province where there is an Ecological Research Station of Academia Sinica.As birds' habitat, the forest are divided into the four vertical layers as tree, bamboo, fern and grass. The bamboo jungle Sinarundinaria nitida lies in the middle layer of the forest.
