This paper presents our preliminary study on the breeding ecology of Chestnut Bittern Ixobrychus cinnamorneus. It is a Shanxi summer migrant. Results obtained may be given below.The highest seasons of migration are in the end of May and September. Mating starts from the end of May to the beginning of June, one female to a male.
