Abstract:National park is the most important type of protected areas in the world which plays an irreplaceable role in protecting biodiversity and natural resources, and supports the sustainability of the biosphere. China is one of the extremely rich biodiversity" in the world. Protecting biodiversity and promoting the construction of national parks are important tasks to promote the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and build ecological civilization. There were importliant progresses in the spatial layout of national parks, ecological conservation, institutional setup, and improvement of people"s livelihood in national parks, since the establishment of national park system pilots in 2013. Relevant research in the fields of life sciences, ecology, geography and other fields have played an important role in scientific and technological support in the planning and management of national parks. However, the construction of national parks in China is still in the exploratory stage and still faces many challenges in natural resource protection, management systems and mechanisms, harmonious community development, and biodiversity monitoring. On the basis of national park construction progress in China, this paper mainly analyzes and discusses three aspects on scientific basic research on national park construction and management, national park management strategies and measures, and national park monitoring technology, in order to provide scientific and technological supports for the high-quality construction of a national park management system that is in line with the natural resource characteristics and economic-social development conditions in China.
